We are the rainbow nation, and that doesn’t just apply to our skin colour. We are diverse in all ways, and the one way that shines proudly is our sporting accolades.

South Africans love all sport and whether we are partaking physically in a sport or couch-potatoeing in front of the television, we are avid supporters of many sports.

If you look at our sporting calendar, there is always something going on, from our national cricket team, the Proteas, to Bafana Bafana, our football legends, and our ever-tenacious Springboks.

No matter the sport you prefer, as a nation, we are super proud whenever our national teams excel, and even when they don’t.

While it seems like a lifetime ago, the World Cups that we have sponsored, both in football and rugby, as well as the world tournaments in cricket, our nation always stands up as a whole and roots the national team on.

What does it mean to be patriotic?
What is a nation without its support? What good is a national team if they don’t have the love and backing of its people? Are our teams only as strong as the supporters behind them?

There may be many areas of our country and how it’s run, that we don’t agree with. There may be rules, laws, and sentiments that we strongly are against. But, in the end, this is the country you were born into, this is the nation that has brought you up. A country is more than just earth and sky. A country is her people. And, showing your support towards all things South African is what a true patriot is.

You don’t have to love all sport, but we are sure, when the legs are pumping, the ball is flying through the air, or the crowds are standing up in anticipation, you cannot help but get drawn into the
exhilarating hype that is sport.

How to get more involved in our nation’s sports?
Maybe you are not the most active or fit person around, maybe the thought of running just up the road gets your heart rate going, and not in a good way. That’s okay, but it doesn’t mean you can’t get
involved in one of our sports.

There are many to choose from, but our most popular and successful sports are definitely cricket, soccer and rugby. All you have to do is go to a live game, any of them, and you will be wound up in the unparalleled unruliness that are sport supporters. And, by unruly, we mean excited, pumped, involved, and passionate.

And, once you get that feeling, once you experience the adrenaline of watching your newest favourite sporting hero make that tri, hit that six, or score that goal, you will be hooked.
Sounds awesome, doesn’t it?

And, you don’t need to be of the male gender to get this feeling either. There are many women out there that are reaching their hands up into the air, fist pumping their way through a game, and shouting sometimes most obscene phrases at the referee, all in the name of patriotic sport supporters.

Supporting sports in South Africa needn’t only be limited to our national team though. Your children, your friends, and your family all may participate in a sport, so be sure to show your belief and get
down to their games.

And, add to that patriotism, by ensuring you give your families sporting clothes a good wash with our magic solution, FungiSolve.
